Kathiawari Horse is square and sturdy horse, As Marwari horses has Distinctive ears (upturned ears), Kathiawari Horse also has same ears little more short and tight. Although this horse is available in 13 colours, but black is not one of them. Their head is usually small & concave eyes of Kathiawari Horse are normally larger. Nose is Roman shape but less than Marwari Horse. Their Back is short and body is short coupled. Neck of Kathiawari Horse is Crested and Stout. 

Kathiawari Horse shows loyalty & bravery in battle. Mainly for faithfulness & alertness, these Kathiawari Horses are very well known. These horses&rsquo posses&rsquo quality of being intelligent, affectionate & high spirited horse. Kathiawari Horses are famous for their &lsquoRevaal gait&rsquo also which is very swift. Some Kathiawadi families also use Kathiawari Horse even present days. There is some sub types breed of Kathiawari Horse like Changi, Malya, Tanjan, Harni, Lakhi, Norali & Atari etc. Kathiawari Horses are slim & strong and smart & active also.

In riding, Kathiawari Horses has great stamina and they have capacity of trotting with great extension. These horses show extent of loyalty to their masters and attacks directly on enemies if required. Even they get wounded in battle or war place, they fight for their riders. Disproportionate weights can be carried by these horses in racing or jumping also. Kathiawari Horses are really beautiful breed of horses & shows elegant gentleness. Kathiawari Horses were superior to all breeds in capacity in Maratha & British Cavalries. 

Generally Kathiawari Horses breed is very low in response of being sick, all of them have good health. Little food and water is enough for them for long run also. There are no such health issues which are faced by Kathiawari Horses. A healthy lifestyle given to these horses is enough to maintain them. Regular Veterinary checkups ensure their health. There is rare such case, when Kathiawari Horse face some serious health issue.

Before Mughal Emperors, in western coast of India, horse were inhabited from 1536 to 1857. In the time of British Raj, Modern Kathiawari breed is created by crossing Arabian horse breed with native stock. It is also believed that these horses are influenced by Mongolian Horse. These horses are named on Peninsula Kathiawari. These originate from State of Gujarat from Middle Eastern land of Saurashtra. In India, almost all type of horses has Kathiawari breed blood traces. Kathiawari breed horses are Arabian horse family descendant. 

Kathiawari Horses can be purchased only by experienced horse owners only as they cannot be handled by novice owners or first time horse owner. For owing these horses you have to be prepared for these cost - mainly these horses cost for their food which includes grain and hay, Farrier which includes trimming and shoeing (every eight week), training and medical issues and care such like veterinary fees, vaccination and dental care. An emergency insurance is needed to cover all types of major health issues. Else than that at the time of purchase trailer, tack and pet purchase vet check is necessary. So a buyer should keep all these things into mind.
