We are really sad to inform that the world"s tallest Dog named Zeus died recently. The Great Dane"s name was registered in the book of Guinness World Record for being the tallest Dog in the world.

Zeus"s owner Kevin Doorlag, who lives in Otsego, Michigan and works as a veterinary technician, describes him as a 'gentle giant.'

Zeus, who was 44 inches tall and was 7-foot-4 on his hind legs, passed away on September 3 at the age of 5.

Zeus became the member of Doorlag family when he was just 8 weeks old.

We got him from this couple that had had a litter &hellip and we went and looked at him and fell in love with him, Doorlag said.

"He sit on people"s laps. I loved to see people"s reactions when he sit down Doorlag said. He just seemed to want to make people smile and happy and hellip he was just a very sweet dog."

Zeus made an entry in the Guinness World Records in its 2013 edition.

Doorlag's wife Denise says they used to get several reactions whenever they took Zeus out on a walk.

"The most common thing people ask is: "Is that a dog or a horse?" and "Where"s his saddle?" she said.

May Zeus soul rest in peace.
