Meet Blossom, a 6-foot-4-inch cow owned by an Illinois woman. The piece of news is that this adorable pet has been dubbed the tallest cow in the world.
Blossom and her owner Patty Hanson smiled for the camera during the official photo shoot of Guinness World Records recently.
Hanson came to know about the record when she got an email in August. The cow's foot trimmer and vets noticed the large size of the 2,000-pound animal, said Hanson.
A vet from Orangeville Animal Health Service took the official measurements of the cow, while family and friends began documenting her through videos and pictures.
"When I put Blossom"s halter on, she knows it"s time to go to work greeting people, and one of the best things I love about this big cow is she makes people smile. But now when I get to tell them they are looking at the world"s tallest cow, I can"t wait to see their reaction," Hanson was quoted as saying.
Hanson adopted Blossom, who is now 13, when she was a calf.
"My dad used to chuckle at Blossom, but soon softened up to her, which is why she stayed home on the farm as an addition to the many pets &mdash she adds character," Hanson said.
The 2016 edition of the "Guinness Book of World Records" will include Blossom. Congratulations and keep mooing Blossom!
